In the golden autumn of October, the sky is high and the air is crisp. At 10:08 a.m. on October 20, the commissioning ceremony for Phase I of Newcell’s 20 GWh energy storage lithium battery base in Yiyang was officially launched. Attending the ceremony were company chairman Tao Guang, general manager Guo Zhonghua, Liu Yonghui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yiyang Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Yiyang, Wang Jun, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Yiyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Huang Zhongzhi, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Yiyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and Professor Zheng Lirong from Fudan University, among other leaders and guests.

The Yiyang base of Newcell has an investment of RMB 5 billion, covers an area of 360 mu, with a construction area of 190,000 square meters and an annual production capacity of 20 GWh. The project will inject strong momentum into the development of the new energy industry in Yiyang City. The base is planned to build a modern new energy production base, aiming to provide green energy solutions in the field of energy storage to meet the growing demand in the energy storage market.

At the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Tao, Chairman of Newcell, delivered a speech in which he congratulated everyone on the completion and commissioning of the Yiyang base, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the leaders of the Yiyang Municipal Party Committee, the Yiyang Municipal Government, the High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and all others who had made significant contributions to the construction of the base. He stated that Newcell has always been committed to advancing the development of the new-energy lithium-ion battery energy-storage industry, and that the completion and commissioning of the Yiyang base marks an important milestone in the company’s development. Looking ahead, Newcell will continue to increase its investment, constantly upgrade its technological capabilities, and make greater contributions to promoting the widespread adoption and development of green energy. At the same time, he expressed the hope that the Yiyang base would serve as a model for cooperation between Newcell and the Yiyang Municipal Government and the High-tech Industrial Development Zone, working together to create a brighter future.

Huang Zhongzhi, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Yiyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, also delivered a speech at the commissioning ceremony. He stated that the Yiyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone is very willing to cooperate with Newcell to jointly build the Yiyang base. The completion and commissioning of this base marks an important step forward for Yiyang in the new energy storage battery industry. The Yiyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone will continue to support the development of Newcell, provide high-quality services and a favorable business environment, and jointly promote the popularization and development of green energy. He believes that, through the cooperation between the two parties, the Yiyang base of Newcell will become a model, providing valuable experience and models for other regions to learn from.

Subsequently, the host invited government leaders Liu Yonghui, Wang Jun, Huang Zhongzhi and others, important company clients Wang Zidong, Zhang Judong, Dai Chaohui, She Pengfu and others, as well as Professor Zheng Lirong from Fudan University and other distinguished guests to take the stage and witness the event together. Then, Liu Yonghui, Executive Vice Mayor of Yiyang City, announced the official commissioning of the Newcell lithium battery project.

At the commissioning ceremony, Professor Zheng Lirong of Fudan University delivered a presentation on the topic of the energy internet and smart energy systems. He emphasized that the energy internet and smart energy systems represent key directions for the future development of the energy sector. As a core component of the energy internet, the smart energy system will leverage technologies such as intelligent sensing, intelligent control, and intelligent decision-making to achieve intelligent management across the entire energy value chain—covering generation, transmission, storage, and consumption. This will make energy systems more flexible, smarter, and more reliable, while also enabling them to accommodate and integrate diverse energy sources, thereby advancing the clean, low-carbon, and sustainable development of the energy sector.

Under the joint witness of distinguished leaders and guests, the company’s General Manager Guo Zhonghua formally signed agreements with five strategic partners, paving the way for win-win cooperation.
